I told my friend Elizabeth about my Sound of Silence project tonight. She asked me what I’d recorded so far, and then she asked me if I’d done anything differently. I realized then that I really hadn’t. Every song I’ve recorded thus far has been just a pretty straightforward interpretation of its original. So tonight, this is me doing things a little differently.

These are the pictures I took to Sweeney Todd’s when I got my hair cut short. (Yes, I get my hair cut at a place called Sweeney Todd’s — obviously that’s the only reason I go there. Well, that and my awesome hairdresser.) But yeah. I have them all saved in a collage called SHORTHAIR2012.
In other, slightly relevant news, my mom suggested today that I consider getting my upper lip waxed. And by suggest I mean… she was implying that I should do more than just consider. Oh god, is this what it means to be a liberated twentysomething living poor and wild in nyc? REALLY? A MOUSTACHE? That’s what you got for me?

My building was doing this asbestos thing today, which was cool because I was in NJ playing with my dog and eating my parents’ food. The asbestos was supposed to finish by 3pm, giving me time to get to my apartment and change into my work clothes. But I got back home only to find that I wouldn’t be allowed up to my apt until 8 PM?!??! WHAT??? I was wearing jeans and a scrappy tank top. I had to be put together for work! FUCK.
I ended up at H&M, with this dress in 3 sizes because I hate H&M and never shop there and I don’t know my weird european size. Also, I was waiting on that fitting room like for 18 minutes. EIGHTEEN MINUTES. I was like, this is not a ride at Disney World, this should not be taking this long. I had to CALL MY WORK FROM THE FITTING ROOM LINE and explain my situation and tell them I was going to be late. HONESTLY.
But this dress is fucking perfect and I’m obsessed and it was so worth it. I guess fate and karma really wanted me to buy a dress today.
Also, new white iphone. My old one was black, and it got STOLEN. So yeah.
AND MY NEW HAIR, I’M OBESSED, I CAN’T FUCKING GET USED TO HOW MUCH I FUCKING FUCKING LOVE THIS!!!
